Dali Weather in July

In consideration of hot climate in Dali in July during daytime, just wear some thin clothing, like short T-shirt, light pants, dress and shorts. Put on a coat when it gets a little cool at night or if it rains. Appreciating the beauty of lotus flowers is a fascinating event in July in Dali. Come to the East Lake in Eryuan County, and enjoy the most beautiful panoramas of lotus flowers.

Moreover, the delicious fungus is a unique delicacy you shouldn’t miss. The more rainfall, the more fungus there will be. This may be one good thing the rainy weather brings. 

If you are lucky enough, you may have the chance to take part in the celebration of the Torch Festival, held by Yi Minority and Bai Minority, which falls on Jun. 24 or 25 in Chinese lunar calendar. The main activities include bullfight, sheep fight, chicken fight, horse-racing, wrestling, performance of singing and dancing and so on, especially igniting bonfires, through which ethnic people pray for a bumper crop.
 Bring along an umbrella.  It’s better to take some medicine to prevent bites of mosquitoes and other insects, for the reason of luxuriant plantings in Dali.
