Kaohsiung International Airport

Kaohsiung Airport, also known as Xiaogang Airport, is situated at Xiaogang District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan Province. Covering an area of 244 acres, it has two terminals with international one of 70, 985 square meters (84,897 square yards) and domestic one of 17,500 square meters (20,930 square yards). It includes 32 aircraft stands and a runway of 3,150 meters (3,445 yards). It also serves as an alternate landing area for Taoyuan International Airport.

How to Travel between Airport and Kenting

1: Airport Shuttle Bus

Route: Airport – Chaozhou – Fangliao – Haikou – Checheng – NMMBA – Hengchun – Nanwan – Kenting

How to Travel from the Airport to Tainan

First, take the Taipei red line at the airport and get off at Zuoying Railway Station, it takes about 30 minutes and NT$50. Then, take the railway to Tainan Railway Station, which takes about 35 minutes and costs NT$100. The trains from Gaoxiong to Tainan operate from 06:03 to 21:10 with 29 trains each day.
 

Attractions in Kaohsiung

1: The Pier-2 Art Center
The Pier-2 Art Center is located in Dayong Road, Yancheng District. Formerly known as the port warehouse, it has been transformed into an art exhibition area based on the concept of innovation, experiment and avant-garde since 2000. Artists and students can display their works there, and some art activities are held there periodically. Besides, there is concert almost every weekend.

2: Tuntex SkyTower
Located in Lingya District, it is adjacent to Kaohsiung Harbor and Xinguang Wharf. First built in 1989 and completed in 1997, it represents the eighth tallest building in the world and is the tallest skyscraper and landmark in southern Taiwan. There are 92 elevators and the fastest one can rise 77 floors in 45 seconds with a speed of 750 meters per minute, ranking third in the world.
