How to Travel from Singapore to Haikou

The distance between Singapore and Haikou is about 2,220 kilometers (1,370 miles). Since there are no direct flights or other modes of transportation, tourists need to make a transfer. Shenzhen and Guangzhou are recommended transit places.

You can take direct flights to Guangzhou on Tuesday and Sunday and then fly to Haikou directly, spending about 8 hours and CNY3,180-9,167. If you transfer in Shenzhen, you can only achieve it on Sunday; the whole trip also takes about 8 hours and CNY3,230-4,245.

 Now there is CZ3040 taking off from Singapore Changi Airport at 17:50 every Tuesday and TR100 at 05:30 every Sunday. They all land at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. If you take TR100, you will have more connecting flights to Haikou Meilan International Airport to choose from. The fly time from Guangzhou to Haikou is 1 hour. The whole trip needs about 8 hours and CNY CNY3,060-9,028.

 From Singapore to Shenzhen, visitors can only take SQ846 which departs from Singapore Changi Airport at 07:25 every Sunday. About 4 hours later, the flight will arrive at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport. There about 10 flights to Haikou from Shenzhen in the afternoon and the duration is about 1 hour. All together the Singapore to Haikou flight time by this way is about 8 hours and the ticket for Economy Class costs CNY3,250-4,834 in total.

 Because no direct Haikou to Singapore flights and other transport means are scheduled, it is necessary to have a layover on the way. The recommended layover airports are Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport. The Baiyun Airport serves CZ309 taking off at 10:40 on Tuesday and TR101 on Sunday to Singapore while the Bao’an Airport operates SQ847 departing at 14:20 on Sunday to Singapore. It takes about 1 hour and CNY600-1,720 from Haikou to Guangzhou/Shenzhen by direct flight. The second half of the journey spends about 4 hours and CNY3,306-5,317 in total.
 

October to May of the following year is the best time to visit Haikou. The sun at this time is much softer than in summer and the weather is pleasant without frequent rainstorm. Visitors can fully have fun on the beach and enjoy the beautiful sea view.  It is also a good time to tour the Dongzhai Port Nature Reserve with lush mangroves and picturesque coastline, Holiday Beach and Temple of Five Lords which highlights ancient building complex.
