Famous Sugar City for Producing Sucrose

Situated in the southeast of Sichuan Province, Neijiang is bordered by Chongqing and Chengdu to the east and west, Zigong, Yibin and Luzhou to the south, and Suining and Nanchong to the north. It is a cotton, sugarcane production area and sugar industry center. The main cultural landscape of Neijiang City is related to Zhang Daqian, a famous painter in China. Neijiang also boasts a large number of temples, cliff carvings, lakes and karst caves. If time permits, a trip to Chongqing or Chengdu can be taken into consideration as it only takes 30 minutes from Neijiang to these two cities by bullet train.

 Shengshui Temple: one of the eight famous temples in Sichuan Province located in suburbs of Neijiang City, first built during 860-870 of the Tang Dynasty (618-907) 

 Zhang Daqian Memorial: built for one of the most distinguished contemporary painters of traditional Chinese painting, Zhang Daqian, who was born in Neijiang 

 More Scenic Spots: Guyu Lake, Chonglong-Baiyunshan Scenic Area, Zizhong Confucius Temple

How to Get to Neijiang

Neijiang City is located halfway between Chengdu and Chongqing, two big cities which are respectively 173 and 167 kilometers (107 and 104 miles) from the Neijiang. Through the expressway, it can be reached within about two hours from Chengdu, and buses can be easily found in Chengdu, such as in Wugui Bridge Bus Station near the Tazishan Park in eastern Chengdu city proper, the bus station near the north railway station of Chengdu and Shuangqiaozi Bus Station.

The city enjoys a subtropical humid monsoon climate, featuring warm winter and torrid summer weather, with plenty of sunshine and moderate rainfall. For Neijiang weather, the average temperature of the coldest day in January falls to around 6℃-8℃ (42.8℉-64.4℉), and that of the hottest day in July is around 26℃-28℃ (78.8℉-82.4℉). Precipitation wise, sixty percent of the rainfall occurs in the summer. March to June and September to November are best months to tour around.   

Neijiang Travel Tips

 History: The first county-level administrative organization was set up here more than two thousand years ago in the Eastern Han Dynasty. It was known as Han'an and Zhongjiang before the first emperor of the Sui Dynasty (581-618) changed its name to Neijiang. The Neijiang Special District was established in 1950 and altered to a city in 1985.       

 Physical Features: Neijiang is located in the central region of Sichuan Basin. Hilly areas make up the main part of the city's territory. Low mountains are distributed in the southeast and southwest.
