Chengdu Train

Chengdu has three passenger railway stations:
Chengdu Railway Station, i. e. the North Railway Station, which is located in Jinniu District, about 3 miles (5 kilometers) from the city center, Tianfu Square; East Railway Station in Chenghua District, about 6 miles (10 kilometers) from Tianfu Square, South Railway Station in Wuhou District, about 3.4 miles (about 5.5 kilometers) from Tianfu Square. Another station in this city, West Station, is under construction and will be opened by the end of 2016.

 Rail line under construction: Chengdu-Jiuzhaigou Line
 At the junction of four railroads to/from Baoji in Shaanxi Province, Chongqing, Kunming in Yunnan Province and Dazhou in Sichuan Province, this station is the city's major passenger rail station. Large waiting hall is certified for holding 9,000 passengers. Trains here connect the city with Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xi'an, Chongqing, Ningbo and other places.

 Tickets
The station operates 36 regular ticket windows. Another 31 windows may open when needed. Tickets for trains departing from this station may be bought at the city’s East Railway Station as well as ticket offices in downtown. There are also access free facilities for the disabled. At the station, tickets are available for purchase 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

 Taxi: A taxi stand is at the square in front of the station. It costs CNY 80 - 100 to get to Shuangliu Airport and CNY 35 to the Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
 Chengdu trainOperational on May 8th, 2011, this station is the largest modern passenger transport hub in southwest China. It incorporates Jinsha culture and bronze mask element. The station waiting hall is on the 3rd floor, platforms on the 2nd floor and arrival hall on the ground. There are 14 platforms and 26 rail tracks, dispatching trains to/ from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Changsha, Nanning and Dazhou, etc. Due to the operation of the cross-sea Yuehai Railway from 2004, direct trains running to Haikou can be taken from this station.

 Ticket
Passengers may buy tickets from the 100 ticket windowsspread all over the station. Tickets for departures from this station are also available at other stations and ticket outlets in the city. 

 Transport
 City Bus: There are bus stops at both west and east square of the station. Buses available at west square are 4, 40, 47, 71, 121, 817; at east square are  2, 38, 91, 101, and 147.   
 Taxi: It takes about CNY 40 and 20-30 minutes from this station to Chengdu Railway Station and about CNY 60 - 80 to the airport. 
 This station was put into use on December 20th, 2014 with the operation of Chengdu-Mianyang-Leshan Intercity High-Speed Railway. Currently, only bullet trains to / from Mianyang, Leshan, Emeishan, Shuangliu Airport, Jiangyou are operated here. Double in size to the north station, it is a complex transportation hub. Transportation connection here include subway line 1, buses 16, 49, 76, 99, 111, 112, 121, 133, 147, 181, 187, 188, 222, 236, 238, 304, 501, 806, 806B, 809, 815, 815A, 816A, and 824 and taxis.
 

West Railway Station

The west station is still under construction, for D trains between the city and Ya’an. When opened, the “two principals (north and east stations), two assistants (south and west stations)” setup of the city’s rail transport will also be linked. The station will be accessible by subway line 4.
