How to Travel between Shanghai and Huangshan

Shanghai to Huangshan distance is about 400km (249mi). To travel from Shanghai to Huangshan, high speed trains with the duration of around 2.5 - 3 hours are very popular, with a second class seat pricing at CNY180-206. From Huangshan North Railway Station, there are tourist buses to Yellow Mountian Scenic Area. Shanghai to Huangshan long-distance buses are also available, taking 5.5-6 hours and costing CNY135.

  By Tourist Bus:
On the west of the front square of Huangshan North Railway Station, there is Huangshan Tourist Transport Center operating frequent nonstop tourist buses to Yellow Mountain Scenic Area. The buses depart from 8:30 to 19:00 with an interval of 10-30 minutes.

 By City Bus: 
Take bus no. 1 at the railway station to Qiyun Mountain Scenic Area, transfer to Qiyun Mountain - Yellow Mountain Special Tourist Line and get off at Dongling Transfer Center. Walk southwestward for about 600 meters (660 yards), then turn right and walk another 600 meters to the entrance of the scenic area.

  From Huangshan General Bus Station: The bus station operates nonstop tourist buses to Yellow Mountain running from 6:45 to 7:55 with an interval of 40 minutes to 1.5 hours.
