Getting Around
At present, Changchun Subway Line 1, Line 2, Line 3, Line 4 and Beihu Line (Line 8) are in operation. Both these five lines pass Changchun Railway Station. Line 3 and Line 4 also cover Museum of Imperial Palace of Manchu State and other main transportation hubs. Subway line 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10 are expected to open in the near future. The city is planned to operate 19 subway lines by 2030 with a total length of about 643 kilometers (400 miles).

The central area of Changchun is not very spacious, but city bus routes here amount to more than 100 and can take you to almost every part of the City. Generally speaking the ticket fee is 1 Yuan in driver only buses; in those busses with conductors, the ticket fee is based on the numbers of stops you travel. Please do remember to take small change when you use buses!Taxis are available in the city with a total number of 15,000, providing services to locals and visitors. Cabs here include brands of Hongqi, Audi and Jetta and they are quite popular due to the low expense. The starting fee is CNY5 for the first 2.5km (1.6mi) and CNY1 fuel fee is charged for each ride. Once the car runs farther than 2.5km (1.6mi), it charges CNY2 per kilometer (0.6mi). If you are traveling in a small group, it is cost-efficient to tour around by taxi.
The No.54 tram makes Changchun one of the few cities still running trams within China. After renovation and maintenance this tram service is in very good condition and affords great comfort. No.54 Tram starts from Hongqi Jie and stops at Heping Dalu passing Changchun Film Studio, Film City and other important scenic attractions. The No.54 tram has itself become a highlight of local tourism because its nostalgic flavor reminds people of times past. Don't miss this tram whenever you come to visit the city.

City Bus
Some of the minibuses here will stop whenever you wave to the driver. Surely they will make your trip more convenient comparing taking those big buses. No.264 bus can be taken as a special tourist line, for it passes many scenic spots, such as the Film Palace, Nanhu Park, Wenhua Plaza and the Puppet Emperor's Palace.
