Downtown Lines: Mainly from 1 to 159.
Downtown Micro Bus Line: Lines that start with the number '3' with some exceptions.
Downtown Night Lines: Lines that start with the number '8' with some exceptions.
Downtown Tourist Lines: Lines that start with the Chinese word 'You', including Y1-Y5.
Pukou and Liuhe District Lines: Lines that start with the number '6' with some exceptions.
Jiangning District Lines: Lines that start with the Chinese word 'Qu'.
Jiangning District Night Lines: Lines that start with the Chinese word 'Ye'.
Suburban Lines: Lines that start with Chinese word connecting suburb with downtown area.
 

Operating Hours:

In general, most buses in the downtown area run from 05:00 to 23:00. Some stop earlier at 20:00 or 21:00. The suburban lines usually stop as early as 17:30. Most of the night lines run from 23:00 to 04:00 the next day. Some may serve from 22:00 to 05:00 the next day. The tourist lines general stop at 17:00-18:30.
 

Ticket Fare:

All of the downtown city-buses are self-service with no refund for overpayment. The ordinary bus fare is CNY1 per person and the air-conditioned bus fare is CNY2 per person. There is a discount on the normal ticket fare when paying with a Nanjing Transportation Smart Card. If a child is shorter than 1.3m (4ft), he/she can take all buses free of charge.
 

Tourist and Sightseeing Bus Lines

Nanjing has been the capital of several Chinese imperial dynasties. Thus it has a variety of historical and cultural heritage evident in its architecture. There are many scenic spots throughout the city. At present, there are 5 tourist bus lines which make travel to the scenic spots simple.
