Shangjie Airport was first opened to navigation in 1958 and served as a general aviation airport. Currently, it is under expansion and is expected to cover an area of 2430 hectares, including a runway of 2,000 meters (2187 yards) and the aircrafts stands of 100,000 square meters (119,600 square yards). Equipped with 4C standard, it will build 13 gate positions, matched taxiways, communication lanes, and improve landing systems and navigation lights as so to achieve the blind landing of medium-sized aircrafts.
