Famous Food Processing City

Situated in south-central Henan Province, Luohe borders with Zhoukou, Zhumadian, Pingdingshan and Xuchang to the east, south, west and north. Luohe is a famous food processing city with meat products, flour products, beverage manufacturing, fruit and vegetable processing as the leading industries. It has cultivated a number of well-known food enterprises such as Shineway Group, the largest meat processing enterprise in Asia, and Nanjiecun Group, a famous instant noodle producer in China. Luohe City was once famous in ancient China for its developed commerce and land and water transportation. Today Luohe also has well-connected transport facilities as many railways and high-speed highways pass through the whole area. It takes less than an hour's drive from Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport. The two tributaries of the Yellow River, Shahe River and Lihe River, run through the city and meet in the urban area, making Luohe a rare city with water landscape in northern China. Nanjie Village

Situated in the southeast of Linying County, Nanjie Village is a rising tourist destination of Luohe City as a humanistic sight showing best the new style countryside of China. In the scenic area, there are industrial park, high-tech agricultural park, culture scenic area, rare tropical plants resort area and many other zones for sightseeing.

Bi'ansi Stone Stupas

Bi'ansi Stone Stupas now in Yancheng District is 3 meters (9.8 feet) high carved with historic paintings and Buddhist statues that was first built during the northern Song Dynasty (960-1127).

How to get to Luohe

Luohe is about 140 kilometers (87 miles) south of Zhengzhou, the capital city of the province. Situated on the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, it is an important traffic hub of central Henan. The local railway station is seated in the Malu Street of Yuanhui District. City long-distance bus station is just north of the railway station. Through railways, the city can be reached from most of the big and medium cities in China, such as Beijing (West), Shanghai (South), Tianjin, Xi'an, Harbin, Guangzhou, Kunming, Changsha, Chongqing, Lanzhou, Qingdao, Wuhan, Guilin, Zhanjiang and so on. By bus, it is convenient to make a transfer to Luohe at Luoyang or Zhengzhou. Luoyang Long Distance Bus Station has buses to Luohe via expressway and national highway. The journey is about two hours. From Zhengzhou, Luohe can be reached in a bit more than two hours.

Luohe Travel Tips

 History: Luohe is a time-honored city, derived from a small town since the Shang (16th - 11th century BC) and Zhou (11th century BC - 221 BC) dynasties. It is also a cultural city. Excavations unearthed in the city push the history of characters eight thousand years farther, music and the wine making history three thousand years farther.

 Physical Features: Situated in the interface of Huaibei Plain and plain area at the east foot of the Funiu Mountains, the terrain of the city is flat. Rivers in its territory mainly belong to the water system of Huaihe River.

 Special Local Products: Huanghui Ham, Nanjie Village instant noodle, beef and garlic of Fancheng
