Harbin Taiping International Airport is located about 33 kilometers (21 miles) northwest of Harbin City.

Brief Intro:

Harbin Airport, formerly named Yanjiagang Airport, was built in 1979 and began serving as an International airport in 1984. Having expanded during 1994-1997, it is currently equipped under the 4E standards and is capable of handling 6,000,000 passengers every year. 

 With the implement of 72 hours visa-free transit facility at Harbin Airport on August 1st of 2015, visitors from 51 qualified countries do not need visas when in transit via this airport for less than 72 hours.

It is divided into two linked terminals, International and Domestic. It is the second largest airport in northeastern China at present and caters for approximate 50 domestic and international routes. It serves more than 30 tourist destinations within China including: Beijing, Shanghai, Qingdao, Shenzhen, Xi'an and Hong Kong, etc. Cities within America, Russia, Korea, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia can also be reached by scheduled flights. In September 2006, six new international airline routes opened, to Frankfurt, London, Vancouver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York; via transfers in Beijing, and, with the exception of San Francisco, all are scheduled daily flights.

 By taxi: Taxi is also available at the airport. It costs about CNY130-150 from Harbin airport to Harbin railway station and a bit than CNY100  to the city center area. You can try to bargain the price with the taxi driver.
