Heilongjiang Weather

As it's the northernmost as well as the easternmost province in China, Heilongjiang weather features its low temperature. Indeed, Heilongjiang has the lowest average temperature among all provinces and regions in the whole country. The long winter there, lasting even for six to seven months in its northern part, is extremely cold, and the coldest record is -52.3℃ (-62℉), happened in Mohe, the most northern city in China. After cool and dry spring, the summer turns to be hot commonly, together with the increasing rainfalls. In autumn, it is mostly clear and sunny and the frosts come early.

Naturally, Heilongjiang holds a higher temperature in its southern part than that in the north. The plains in the west and northeast is warmer than the mountains in the southeast and north as well. The difference of rainfall between south and north is not big, but that between west and east is obvious. The eastern area gets more rains then the west, and the southwest gets the least.
