West Ancient Fortress, built in the Jin Dynasty (1115-1234) and rebuilt in the late Qing Dynasty (1636-1912), is located in Nuanquan Ancient Town, which is one of the best-preserved ancient garrison villages of China. It combines ancient theatrical stages, temples and courtyards with typical architectural style of Ming and Qing Dynasties, small but exquisite.Sometimes sand storms will come to Zhangjiakou in May because of the dry climate in Zhangjiakou in May.
