Longgang District is located in the northeast of Shenzhen and adjacent to Pingshan District on the east, Longhua District on the west, Luohu District and Yantian District on the south, Huizhou City and Dongguan City on the north. Longgang District Shenzhen is known as the capital of Hakka in the Pearl River Delta because the Hakkas has cultivated there for three hundred years. The Defen Oil Painting Village and Gankeng Hakka Town are the best scenic spots in Longgang to visit.

 Dafen Oil Painting Village
It is the largest commodity oil painting production and trading base in China, and also an important oil painting trading hub in the world. There are full of oil painting workshops in the village. You can see many things about oil painting and even watch the process of painting on the street. You can also buy all kinds of oil paintings or customized oil paintings there. It's also very good to just take photos or go sightseeing in the village.

 Gankeng Hakka Town
The picturesque Gankeng Hakka Town used to be a place where Hakka people lived together and preserves many ancient buildings. There are Nanxiang Building, which has experienced more than 120 years of vicissitudes, the Mansion House built in the Qing Dynasty (1636 - 1912) and the Phoenix Valley, a group of Hui-style residences as well as unique buildings such as turrets, Diaolous and houses built on stilts. Now, the town has become a comprehensive scenic spot. Visitors can learn about Hakka culture and folk customs, experience rural life and taste various delicacies there.

 Wenbo Palace
With a building area of 0.133 square kilometers (0.05 square miles), Wenbo Palace is the largest antique cluster building complex in South China. It skillfully integrates the architectural styles of seven dynasties from the Qin Dynasty (221 – 207) to the Qing Dynasty (1636 - 1912). The three antique shopping streets in the scenic spot and one of which gathers 56 ethnic art works give tourists different shopping experiences.

The best time to visit Longgang District China is from November to February when the weather is not warm and less rainy with an average temperature of 26℃ (79℉). Longgang District has a pleasant climate with mild seasons and abundant sunshine. It is very hot in the summer time of Longgang District Shenzhen, from June to August, alongside a lot of rainy days. The highest temperature can be up to 37℃ (99℉). It is suggested to attach more attention to the weather forecast in July and August when the typhoons are often seen.

Visitors can fly to Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport and then take bus E21 to Longgang District Shenzhen. It is very convenient to access Longgang District Shenzhen by bullet train. Visitors can take a bullet train to Shenzhen Futian Railway Station and take bus M481 and then transfer to E25 at Lizhi Park Stop or to Shenzhen North Railway Station and then take bus E7 to there.

The transportation means in Longgang District China include the metro, buses and taxis. The Metro Lines 3 and 5 pass through the district. Visitors can take Metro Line 3 to Dafen Oil Painting Village. To get to the CBD in Futian District, visitors need to take Metro Line 3 and then transfer to Metro Line 1 at Laojie Station. It charges CNY170-190 to Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, CNY100-110 to Shenzhen Railway Station and CNY90-100 to Shenzhen North Railway Station.
