Guangzhou Weather in September

All types of shorts are still fine to wear in this month. Take a long-sleeved shirt or T-shirt as well in case of a sudden fall in temperature after a heavy rain or if in an air-conditioned room for a long time. Pack an additional layer if visiting Guangzhou in late September.Water activities are still in season, so good destinations would be Chimelong Water Park, Pearl River, and Shamian Island. It's also a good time to shop for summer clothes on Beijing Road, Shangxiajiu Road and the department stores in Guangzhou, since the end-of-season sales usually offer competitive prices. The Mid-Autumn Festival usually falls in September. Don't forget to try the Cantonese Snow Skin Mooncakes. It is also a good time to experience the local traditional festival activities, such as 'lighting tower lamp' and 'Lantern Show'. Various lanterns made of bamboo strips are hung on the high trees and the roofs of the houses to celebrate the festival.
 Rain gear is still the essential to cope with the climate of Guangzhou in September. Bring suntan lotion, sun glasses and sun hat as well. Avoid exposure to the sun for too long, especially during the hottest time of a day from 12:00 to 15:00. Remember to check the weather forecast ahead of the departing on day trips to ensure you are fully prepared.
