Dongguan Transportation -- Getting Around

Dongguan is scheduled to have 7 subway lines by the end of 2030, with the length of about 191 miles (308 kilometers). Currently, passengers can take Line 2, which runs between Humen Railway Station and Dongguan Railway Station, passing 15 stations. Line 1 and Line 3, which are under construction now, will serve the public in 2020. Besides, some metro lines of Dongguan will connect to Shenzhen and Guangzhou. This will make the trip in the Pearl River Delta much easier.

City-Bus

Your trips in Dongguan can completely depend on the convenient city bus system which consists of busses running in the urban area and from the downtown area to other towns and villages around. In order to make the visitors'  trips easier, there are five special tourist routes in the city.

L1 (No.58): departs from Keyuan Garden to Humen from 06:30 to 17:40. The full fare is CNY1 per person.
L2 (No.59): departs from Dongguan General Bus Terminal to Jinsha Park in Shilong Town from 06:20 to 19:00. The full fare is CNY11 per person.
L3 (No.60): departs from the General Bus Terminal to the Hermit Villa in Changping Town from 06:15 to 19:00. The full fare is CNY12 per person.
L4 (No.89): departs from the General Bus terminal to the National Forest Park of Guanyin Mountain in Zhangmutou Town from 06:30 to 19:00. The full fare is CNY6 per person.
L5: departs from the General Bus Terminal to Green World from 06:00 to 20:00. The full fare is CNY2 per person.
 
 

Taxi

Two types of taxis are running in Dongguan: the blue cars can run in and out the city, while the yellow ones are not allowed to operate in downtown areas between 06:00 and 23:00 in order to serve the suburban areas.
