300,000 dockless sharing bikes are available through mobile apps, facilitating transfers to everywhere in the city. The most popular brands of dockless sharing bikes in Beijing are Meituan Bike in yellow, Didi Bike in green and Hello Bike in blue. Internet access and mobile apps are a must to use these dockless bikes and they accept online payment by Apple Pay, Wechat Pay or Alipay.
How to Use a Shared Bike in Beijing
Download Meituan to use Meituan Bike, DiDi Bike, Hello or Alipay to use Hello Bike. Sign up for an account.
Step 2 Scan the QR code to unlock the bike
A map with locations of surrounding bikes is presented to users. Choose a good one nearby to unlock. Every shared bike has a QR code on its stern or under its saddle. Scan it to unlock the bike, better with your Bluetooth on for more precise localization and quicker unlock.
Step 3 Start your riding
Now you are free to ride in all districts in Beijing.
Step 4 Lock the bike
The lock is usually under the saddle. Users should park at the standardized areas shown on the map. If parking outside the parking zone, an extra dispatch fee, usually CNY3-10, will be charged. Remember to lock! If you leave it unlocked, someone else may ride it with all the fare falling on you.
Step 5 Pay online
You will be charged for the time you ride. After locking, the fare is presented to users. One can pay online, with Apple Pay, Wechat Pay and Alipay available.
