How to Travel between Beijing and Tianjin

Flight is not available between Beijing and Tianjin as they are only about 135km (84mi) apart. The major modes of transportation between the two cities are the 20-70 minutes’ intercity high speed trains, 1.5-2hours' normal speed trains and the 3-3.5 hours’ long-distance bus. The high speed trains cost CNY35-66.5, the normal speed trains cost CNY17.5-24.5 and the long distance buses take CNY25-70.

  Airport-Downtown Shuttle Bus + Bullet Train: 1.5-2.5 hours, CNY 68.5-96.5
Take the shuttle bus Beijing South Railway Station Line from Capital Airport to Beijing South Railway Station in 70-80 minutes at a cost of CNY30. It serves from 08:00 to 22:00 with the frequency of an hour. Then catch a high speed train to Tianjin.

 Airport Express Train + Subway + Bullet Train: 1.5-2.5 hours, CNY 68.5-96.5
Take Airport Express Train to Dongzhimen first, transfer to subway line 2 Xuanwumen station. Get off and take line 4 to South Railway Station. It takes around 70 minutes and costs CNY30. Go to Tianjin by high speed train afterwards. 

To travel from Tianjin Railway Station to Tianjin Airport, one can take subway line 2 to the airport without any transfer, which takes about 35 minutes and CNY3. Taking a taxi costs CNY50-80 to reach the airport within 25min.
