Attractions

Wenfeng Pagoda is a landmark structure standing on Yingzhou Lu, the central artery of downtown. It was built in 1796 during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Like the Kuixing (the god of literature) Tower at the southeast corner of the city wall of old city zone, Wenfeng Pagoda is also a Fengshui (Geomantic) tower. It is said that in order to reverse the weakening of the development of literature and the lack of famous literati and officials, these two brick towers were built in southeastern part of the city. The land is low-lying there which would prevent spiritual forces from overflowing outwardly from the ground. Kuixing Tower was first constructed in 1574 of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Wenfeng Pagoda was built later because locals determined that Kuixing Tower was not high enough.

The West Lake of Yingzhou which is 15 kilometers (9 miles) west of the city proper is becoming a top attraction for a Fuyang Travel. The scenic area contains a stele forest, old style buildings, and garden buildings, all of which blend perfectly with the surrounding natural scenery.
