Xi'an South Railway Station

On February 28th, 2023, Xi'an South Railway Station was renamed as Yinzhen Railway Station. With three platforms, the station mainly operates Xi'an-Ankang Railway. Located in the suburban area, the station is about 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) from the Bell Tower in the city center. The public transportation to/from downtown is not convenient. If possible, passengers are advised to use Xi'an Railway Station or Xi'an North Railway Station instead, which is 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) and 45 kilometers (28 miles) from South Station respectively. The New South Railway Station and connected with metro lines is under construction.

South Railway Station is a major stop along Xi'an – Ankang Railway. It mainly operates normal trains to/from Ankang, Chengdu, Qiqihaer and Hohhot.

 This is a small and remote train station. There is only a one-storey terminal building and a front square. The ticket office is located on the east side of the station. Passengers can purchase, refund or change tickets there. After entering the station, passengers can see the waiting area where drinking water and toilets can be easily found. Usually, only those whose trains will depart soon will be allowed to enter the station. Others can just wait outside.

If arriving by bus, passengers will get off in front of the station. Change should be prepared for buying bus tickets.

 Note: For 920, the fare depends on the length and the highest price is CNY8. Other buses cost CNY2. The interval of Bus Line 739 and 752 is pretty long, and the frequent Bus Line 340 is more recommended.

Tip: As this station is pretty far from the downtown area, some drivers are not willing to go. In this case, passengers may choose to carpool by unlicensed cab, which costs about CNY30 per person to the downtown area.

 Located at Xi’an High-tech Industries Development Zone, the new Xi'an South Railway Station (Xi'annan Railway Station) is one of the central hub stations of Xi’an Chongqing High-speed Railway, Xi’an-Wuhan High-speed Railway, Xi’an-Changsha High-speed Railway and Xi’an-Chengdu High-speed Railway. The station will have 13 platforms, and the station building is expected to be 150,000 square meters. Metro Line 6, Line 12, Line 16 and Line 23 will be connected to the railway station in the future.
