At present, Shanwei has a rail connection with Shenzhen by virtue of nearly 30 pairs of high speed trains running between them. Bullet trains have a distance of about 170 km (105 mi) to run and the time spent on a single journey is about 1 - 1.5 hours. CNY 35 / 43 / 55 / 67 is needed for passengers to take a second class seat. There are no normal speed trains connecting these two cities currently.

The rail line between Shenzhen and Shanwei is one important component of Xiamen - Shenzhen High Speed Railway which has a distance of around 514 km (319 mi). There are four railway stations set up along this line, namely, Shenzhen Pingshan, Huizhou South, Huidong and Houmen.
The present bullet trains shuttling between Shenzhen and Shanwei run at a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). News comes that a new high speed railway with a designed top running speed of 350 km/h (217 mph) between these two cities is under the government’s blueprint. With the construction of this new railway, the duration of between them will be shortened into around 30 minutes, compared with the current 1 - 1.5 hours.
Passengers who want to travel between Shenzhen and Shanwei can also take coach as another choice. Nowadays, there are frequent departures with an interval of around 30 minutes from different bus stations between these two cities from 07: 30 to 20:00. The total duration of the journey is around 2.5 hours and the ticket price usually ranges from CNY 70 around to CNY 90.
Fengshan Ancestor Temple is located to the southwest of Shanwei Railway Station with a distance of around 8 km (5 mi). There is bus no. 108 connecting these two places directly. The ticket fare is CNY 2 and the duration is about 40 minutes. If by taxi, around 20 minutes is needed.
