With its unique external appearance of a giant shell, Binhai Railway Station, formerly named Yujiapu Train Station serves as one of the terminals of the extension line of Beijing - Tianjin Inter-city High Speed Railway whose designed speed is 350 km/h (217 mph). It is located at the north part of the financial area of Binhai New Districtin Tianjin. By far, it is also the deepest and largest underground railway station in the world.
It is not only an underground railway station but also a comprehensive transportation center where the transferring of inter-city high speed train, subway, taxi and bus can be conveniently achieved within a distance of less than 200m (220 yards). The whole station consists of four levels, with one level above the ground and three levels under the ground. The superficial level serves as the entrance and the exit of the station. The first basement level includes the ticket hall for inter-city high speed trains and Tianjin metros, and public parking lots. The second basement level is the platform of inter-city bullet trains and the reserved areas for Tianjin metro B1 and Z4 lines. The third basement level is the reserved place for Tianjin metro Z1 line.
City buses 108, 124, 513, 822, 844, 940, and 947 connect the station with surrounding areas.
The distance is about 1,000 meters (1,100 yards) and you can get there by walk within 15 minutes.
