Hefei Railway Station

Hefei Railway Station was put into use in 1935 and reconstructed in 2010. The station is about 8 miles (13 kilometers) from Hefei South Railway Station, 4 miles (6 kilometers) from Memorial Temple of Lord Bao and 27 miles (44 kilometers) from Xinqiao International Airport.

The station operates both normal and bullet trains. The destinations include Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Huangshan, Fuzhou, Xi'an, and Nanjing.

 The station is made up of a two-storey terminal building, the front square (south square) and the north square. There is a special underground passage connecting the two squares.

If arriving by bus, passengers will get off at the north square, front square or surrounding areas. For those with a ticket, enter the station directly and read the ticket carefully to find the correct waiting room to wait for the departure; for those without, the ticket office is located on the first floor. Go there and buy a ticket first and then enter the waiting room.

 Arrival by metro:
Take metro line 1 or line 3 and get off at the railway station directly.

 Arrival by taxi:
Passengers arriving by taxi will be dropped off at the front square in most cases.
It takes about 30 minutes and costs approximately CNY30 from South Railway Station.
It takes around 25 minutes and costs about CNY15 from Memorial Temple of Lord Bao.
It takes about an hour and costs CNY100 or so from Xinqiao International Airport.

 Arrival by long-distance bus:
To the southeast of the train station, one can find Hefei General Coach Station. Passengers arriving by long-distance bus will get off at the coach station. It is only about 350 yards from the railway station terminal.

 

Hard Sleeper Coach

Before checking-in, passengers should read the relevant information on the LED screens and know where to have their tickets checked. After checking-in, follow the direction signs to the platforms to board. After getting onboard, please put the luggage in the right places steadily within your sight.
 When arriving, passengers will be led to the underground passage to exit. After, go to either of the squares to take buses or taxis to leave the station.
 
 Leave by long-distance bus:
Hefei General Coach Station is located to the southeast side of the station. Passengers can exit to South Square and go there to take coaches to Huainan, Panji, Xinji, Wuwei, Fengtai, Wuhu etc.

Tourism Coach Station is about 700 yards to the southwest of the train station. One can find the coaches to Jiuhuashan, Nanjing, Tongling, Shangqiu, Zhengzhou, Shanghai, Shaoxing, and Yiwu etc there. Passengers should exit to the South Square and walk southward along Zhanqing Road to get there.

 Transportation to famous sites:
 South Railway Station:
Walk about 1000 yards eastward to Zhonglv Square to take bus no. 11 or 509 to the destination directly.

 Memorial Temple of Lord Bao:
Take bus no.129 from Front Square to Big Bell Tower North, then walk eastward for about 500 yards to get there.

 Xinqiao International Airport:
Take airport shuttle bus line. 2 or 4 to the airport. The whole journey takes about an hour; Ticket fare is CNY25 per person.
The line 2 departs from General Coach Station between 05:40 and 19:30 every 40 to 60 minutes.
The line 4 departs from Tourism Coach Station between 08:30 and 18:30 every an hour.
  Ticket office:
Ticket office is located on the first floor. Passengers can go there to purchase, change or refund tickets. In addition, for transfer passengers, they can purchase or change tickets in the transfer center inside the underground passage located at the exit of platform no.9.

 Waiting hall:
Altogether 4 waiting rooms are provided on the first and second floor in the station. There are toilets and hot drinking water for passengers' convenience. There is a service desk in the terminal building providing help for the elder, weak, sick and pregnant; meanwhile, passengers can ask for direction or known about schedule from the desk.

 Left luggage:
At the service desk inside the terminal building and the left side of the south exit, one can store their luggage. It usually charges CNY5 for a small bag per day and CNY10 for a large bag per day.
