Guilin - Nanning Train
Normally there are over 70 pairs of trains available a day. Among them, about 55 pairs are high speed G and D types which take only around 2.5 to 3 hours. The rest 15 or so pairs of normal rides take longer time of about 3.5 to 7.5 hours.
Alternatively, there are one or two pairs of flights a day between. The duration is only about an hour. However, the airports in both cities are far from the city center. If you take the time of transfer to/from airport into consideration, the overall duration is not a big difference with high speed rides; but the flight ticket price is much higher on most days.
These bullet trains are top choices for a transfer between the two cities due to its short duration and frequency.
Except D8201/D8202, D8203/D8204, D8205, D8208, D8210, D8211/D8212 and D8214, other rides take both cities as stopovers and some only stop for a few minutes. Thus, travelers are advisable to pay attention to the broadcast and LED screen in the carriage for the next destination and make preparation in advance.
