Datong South Railway Station

Datong South Railway Station is a terminal station on Datong – Xi’an high speed railway and Datong – Zhangjiakou high speed railway. It is about 11 kilometers (7 miles) to Downtown Datong, 13 kilometers (8 miles) to Datong Yungang Airport, 28 kilometers (17 miles) to Yungang Grottoes and 70 kilometers (43 miles) to Hanging Monastery & Mt. Hengshan.

 Datong South Railway Station is a high speed train station with trains to/from Beijing, Xi’an, Pingyao, Zhangjiakou, Taiyuan, Xinzhou West, and Yuncheng, etc.

  By City Bus:
The bus stop in the east of the front square is called Datong South Railway Station where passengers can take city bus line 14, 31, 61, 66, 68, and 605 to Huayan Monastery, Fantawild Adventure Park, Datong Museum, Art Museum and other places in the city.

 Passengers can take city bus line 66 from Datong Railway Station to South Railway Station directly. The travel takes about 50 minutes and costs CNY 1.
 City bus line 605 runs between the two places with a duration of 45 minutes and a fare of CNY 3. Or you can take the free airport shuttle bus to Datong Hotel at first, then transfer to bus line 31 and get off at South Railway Station.
 First, take city bus line 31 from the train station to Pingwangcun Xikou, then go to the scenic spot by city bus line 12. It will spend about 1 hour and 50 minutes and CNY4.
 Go to Xinnan Coach Station by city bus line 14. Then take a coach to Hanging Monastery directly. After visiting, take a taxi to the entrance to Mt. Hengshan. Also, passengers can take a coach from Datong to Hunyuan Coach Station, then take a taxi or charter a bus to the two scenic spots.
 In the east of waiting hall, there is waiting area for passengers needing special care, Children Entertainment Area and Nursing Room. The most special is the nursing room with crib, bottle warmer, and disinfection cabinet in it. It provides a comfortable and private space for the mothers and babies.

E-tickets: Without the necessity of collecting paper tickets, passengers can scan their passports directly when check in if they have verified their identity in advance.

Police Station: It is on the east ticket selling hall, offering help to people who losing their valid certificates.

Service Center: In the center of the waiting hall on the third floor. It provides services like lost & found and key service appointment like special care for people with mobility problems. Also, passengers can check the train information, tourism information and bus routes there.
