Tianjin Radio and Television Tower

Tianjin Radio and Television Tower, 415.2 meters (1,362 feet) high, is the ninth tallest radio and television tower in the world and the third tallest in China. The tower, also called Tianta, was built in the center of Tianta Lake in southwest Tianjin in 1991. The high tower is the landmark architecture in Tianjin and one of the top ten scenic sites in Tianjin. 
 
The tower consists of the tower pedestal like a pavilion, the slim tower body, the tower turret as a flying saucer and the rounded-square-shaped tower mast. When it’s dark, you can look from the outside to observe the beautiful scenery of Tianjin Radio and Television Tower, which is surrounded by neon light. The tower can broadcast 7 television programs and 9 radio programs at the same time. 
 
Currently, only the tower pedestal and three floors of the 7-floor flying-saucer-shape tower turret are open for visitors. There are four high-speed elevators in the center of the tower for visitors to go to the tower turret, whose speed keep 5 meters (16 feet) each second and they go there in 60 seconds.

The restaurant is smaller than the revolving restaurant in the third floor. It can hold about 100 people at the same time. The restaurant can hold banquet for customers and there are karaoke rooms for song lovers. The height of this floor is about 248 meters (813.44 feet).

Visitors can observe the view through the telescopes in this hall. The second floor is about 253 meters (829.844 feet) high, hence the scenery you will observe is grand. From there, visitors can look at the Central Plaza, International Commercial Building, the whole view of Water Park and other high buildings of this city. When it’s dark, the scenery in this city is marvelous with the neon lights going on.

It is 4 meters (13 feet) higher than the observation hall. The particular thing is that the restaurant completes one rotation every 45 minutes. When visitors look from the revolving restaurant, the scenery in front of them will keep changing. In this restaurant, you can not only observe the whole city from the high place, but also eat many delicious and special foods. The three famous special food are the Goubuli Steamed Buns, Eighteen Street Serratula and Erduoyan Fried Rice Cake.

1. Take metro line 3 and get off at the Tianta Station.
2. Take bus line 8, 12, 156, 157, 161, 168, 184, 588, 612, 615, 628, 658, 675, 686, 710, 712, 713, 832, 859, 866, 872 and sightseeing 2, and get off at Tianta Station.
