Bund Sightseeing Tunnel

Bund Sightseeing Tunnel, the first visitor tunnel under Huangpu River in China, connects the Bund and Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone. The tunnel is 646.70 meters (707.24 yd) long and opened to public in October 2000. Bund Sightseeing Tunnel is a special public transport toll link with special effects that make travel across Huangpu River not only easier, but also exciting and interesting.

Although it just takes 3-5 minutes to travel through the tunnel, passengers can appreciate fascinating visual effects with a variety of sounds accompany them. Driverless carriages are used, and passengers have a wide vista from them. This enables the passengers to feel they are transported an “explorer”.

Visitors can find the entrance easily to the south of the Oriental Pearl Tower in Pudong; another is located north of Chenyi Square on the Bund in Puxi.

Passengers start their tunnel journey from the Time Tunnel. Cracked aluminum sheets cover the sidewalls accompanied by the simulated sounds of the “explorer” landing on the ground. This indicates entry into the earth’s sub-strata and arrival in scientific space.

Vortex Tunnel

After viewing Time Tunnel, passengers head to Vortex Tunnel, where the light waves fly backwards at a high speed. Optical fibers shine brightly and form many of gorgeous spirals.

Shuttle Tunnel

Inside the Shuttle Tunnel, there are many vivid rocks on the wall. Accompanied by psychedelic lighting, this gives the impression of travel through the layers of rock.

Next, passengers enter the Deepsea Tunnel to wonder at the underwater scenery.

Vortex Tunnel

While travelling through the Vortex Tunnel, the “explorer” rushes out from the sea and flies high into the sky. The effect of travelling across the sky is an adventure to cherish.
