Huashan Mountain Cable Car

There are two Huashan Mountain cable car lines, respectively North Peak Cableway and West Peak Cableway. These two cableways enable tourists of different ages and physiques all over the world to appreciate the beauty of Mount Huashan. Both the Huashan cable cars not only help tourists to save lots of energy and time, but also provide them with a full view of the wonderful scenery along the way. In addtion, it makes it possible to visit the mountain in a day via cable cars.
 

Huashan Mountain Cable Car to North Peak - Sante Cableway

North Peak Sante Cableway is directly accessible to North Peak, which can save lots of the physical strength for tourists to climb the mountain. From the tourist center at the mountain foot, visitors at first need to take a tourist bus to reach the North Peak Cable Car Lower Station in Wamiaogou in about 20 minutes. The whole cable car ride is about 1,525 meters (0.95 mile) long and it takes about 8 minutes up to the upper station, saving 4-5 hours’ climbing time.  

From North Peak, it only takes about 1.5 hours to reach East Peak. By this way, you can avoid the most difficult part of Huashan hiking.

March ~ November: CNY 80 for a one-way trip; CNY 150 for a round trip.
December ~ February: CNY 45 for a one-way trip; CNY 80 for a round trip.

Huashan Mountain Cable Car to West Peak - Taihua Cableway

The lower station of the West Peak Cable Car is located near the Donggoukou Tourist Center in Wengyu Scenic Area. It takes about 40 minutes to get there by tourism bus from the tourist center at the mountain foot. The whole cable car ride is about 4,211 meters (2.6 miles) long and takes about 20 minutes. There is a stop at White Sparrow Temple midway. You can pay a short visit if you are interested. After getting off the cable car at the upper station, it takes only about 15-20 minutes to walk to the summit of the West Peak.

Huashan cable car to West Peak is an excellent sightseeing route. There is an altitude difference of 894 meters (2,933 feet) between the upper and lower stations. Hanging over 890 meters above the valley would be an exciting and unforgettable experience. You can enjoy a terrific panoramic view of Huashan Mountain in the cable car.

Besides, you spend only about 30 minutes walking to the South Peak and around 40 minutes to East Peak from West Peak, which saves you lots of time and energy.

How to Tour Huashan Mountain by Cable Car

1. If you want to explore the beauty of all peaks and take part in some exciting challenges, you are recommended to take the Huashan Mountain cable car to the North Peak, then hike to East Peak - South Peak - West Peak, and descend by West Peak Cable Car. Or take the Huashan cable car to the West Peak, and then visit South Peak - East Peak - North Peak, and finally take the North Peak Cableway to go down the mountain.

2. If you don’t want to spend too much physical energy to reach the highest peak of Mount Huashan, the South Peak, it is recommended that you go directly up and down by the West Peak cable car.

3. If you want to challenge the steep Huashan trails, walk up the mountain from Jade Spring Temple, via North Peak, East Peak, South Peak, West Peak, and then take the Huashan Mountain cable car at West Peak down the mountain.
