Discoveryland Theme Park

Discoveryland Theme Park comprises seven themed amusement areas scattered around a large lake. In an anticlockwise direction, there are: Crazy Town, Mysterious Desert, Metal Factory, Magic Forest, Legendary Castle, Wedding Palace and American Avenue.

Entering the Discoveryland Theme Park, visitors first see a beautiful European style fountain in a large square called Discovery Square. They can take photos with the animated cartoon figures here. Passing through Discovery Square, visitors can start their discovery tours travelling in an anticlockwise direction around the lake.
 There are many amusement facilities in this town. Visitors shouldn't miss the top spin ride, literally called 'Overturning the River and Upsetting the Sea'. Just imagine how it feels if you are thrown in the air and summersault. In addition, there are some fascinating shows, such as 'Treasure Robbery' in the Crazy Theater and 'Caribbean Carnival' on the water stage.
 Children's favorites 'Pirate Ship' and 'Rail Car' can be found in this area of Discoveryland Theme Park. Also visitors can experience Crazy Kart Races and enjoy unique Middle Eastern style belly dance and fireworks shows in the evening.
 The highlight in Metal Factory is the roller coaster called 'Crazy Cobra'. Visitors can have a unique experience of extreme acceleration due to the use of linear induction motors; it takes only around 3 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 50 mph (0 to 80 kilometers per hour). The tracks twist and turn constantly, even rotating 360 degrees at some points. It is especially thrilling.
 Visitors can start their Amazon Exploration on a hovercraft. Later, they can enjoy themselves by experiencing the suspended roller coaster and watching an exotic show named 'Indians Worshipping the Sun'.
 Visitors should spend some time appreciating the fantastic buildings in the castle. Also, they can challenge themselves in the ghost house. For children, there is a small train that passes through the Kingdom of Fairy Tales. 'King Jocks', a famous European band, gives its best performances regularly on Knight Square.
 Being the most beautiful and quietest place in Discoveryland Theme Park, it is an ideal place to hold a fairy-tale wedding.
 Here, there are souvenir shops, restaurants and leisure facilities. Before finishing their discovery tours, visitors can buy some gifts for families and friends.
 1. Visitors can deposit their luggage at the checkroom on the right side of the tourist service center of Jinshitan Subway Station.
2. Make sure you spare enough time for taking part in the activities and enjoying facilities because there are often long queues. If possible, avoid going to the park at weekends.
3. Take a disposable raincoat because there are water activities.
4. There are various performances inside the park. It is suggested visitors arrange their itinerary according to the performance schedules so that they won’t miss their favorite performances.
5. Parents with children should read the instructions of the amusement facilities because small children are forbidden to enjoy certain facilities.

Take metro line 3 from Dalian Railway Station to Jinshitan. Then, walk west for 10 minutes to the park.

 By bus
Take bus Changhe 803 to Faxian Wangguo directly; or take bus Jinshi 2B, Jinshi 3, Jinshitan 1, Jinshitan 2A, Jinshitan 4 or Jinshitan 5 to Jinshitan subway station and then walk to the park.
