Changchun Movie Wonderland

Changchun Movie Wonderland, also known as Changchun Film Century City, is a film theme park developed by Changchun Film Studio. It is located at the junction of Jingyue Road and Yongshun Road at the Jingyue Economic Development Zone. It is currently the first park in China themed on world-class special effects films. The park was officially opened on May 29, 2005 and has received more than 8 million visitors to date.

Reputed as the oriental Hollywood, the Changchun Movie Wonderland was inspired by the Universal Studios Hollywood and Disneyland in the US. It is divided into four parts, the Innovation and Technologies Area, the Thrills and Spills Area, the Performance Area and the Recreational Area. Visitors can enjoy watching 4D movies with special effects, 3D water screen films, and laser suspension films, apart from live stunt performances and comedy shows.
 

Interstellar Exploration

Films with special effects are the highlights of Changchun Movie Wonderland, the most exciting being the Interstellar Exploration, a dome-screen film with the application of cutting-edge dynamic technology and dome screen technology. Visitors will feel like they are traveling in a spaceship to start an adventurous exploration. There are only three places in the world where visitors can enjoy dome-screen shows, one being at the Movie Wonderland in Changchun, and the others at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and Universal Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles.

The Zombie Hospital, the Memory House, the Giant Screen Cinema, and the Galaxy Palace are some other attractions worth a visit.
 

Zombie Hospital

The Zombie Hospital is different from the traditional ghost houses. Zombies will appear out of nowhere to surprise visitors and will surely frighten the wits out of them. It’s only open at summer evenings.
 

Memory House

Located inside a ‘mushroom’, the Memory House reproduces the living, studying and entertaining scenes for the young Chinese generation born in 1980s. The furnishings in the room are simple, including game machines, a wooden bed, an old desk, and posters of stars from the past, reminding visitors of their younger days. They can also experience some popular games from their childhood, such as hopscotch, skipping a rubber band, rolling a hoop and throwing small sandbags.
 

Giant Screen Cinema

Stepping into the Giant Screen Cinema, visitors will be faced with a large screen, about 18 meters (59 feet) in height and 25 meters (82 feet) in width. It is claimed that the screen is the largest in the world. The cinema can accommodate more than 400 people.
 

Galaxy Palace

In the Galaxy Palace, visitors will learn about how the special effects are made in the movies. They even have a chance to create their own.
 

Other Attractions

Explore further the Crazy Lab, the Kingdom of the Elves, the Rapid Shuttle, the Nightmare Castle and the Mysterious Tree if time and energy is of no constraints. Perhaps do a samba dance or enjoy the acrobatics and some other thrilling performances.
 

Dining

Visitors can dine at the Mayan Restaurant or the Tiger Mountain Restaurant in Changchun Movie Wonderland. They can find both western and Chinese fast food, such as bacon pizza, egg tart, hamburger, roast chicken wings, rice with braised beef brisket or pork ball and Korean cold noodles.
 

Tips:

1. As attractions are built around a lake, visitors are advised to travel on a clockwise direction upon entering Changchun Movie Wonderland.
2. Keep your entrance ticket safe because it will be checked frequently during your visit.
3. Certain entertainment facilities may be closed during scheduled maintenance period.
4. Elderly patronages are advised to avoid the over-exciting Interstellar Exploration and Rapid Shuttle activities.
5. Tuesdays, weekends and public holidays are peak period; thus, expect long queues.

1. Take Subway Line 3 to Changying Shijicheng (Changchun Movie Wonderland) Station.
2. Take bus no. 102, 334, 335 337 or 340 to Changying Shijicheng Station.
