The Nanshan Culture Tourism Zone is located 40 km (24 miles) southwest of Sanya City in the Hainan Province. Countless visitors flock to the area, drawn by the beauty of Nanshan Mountain (South Mountain), making it a principal eco-tourism zone. Visitors also are attracted to the area because of the profound Buddhist influence on the surrounding culture. The zone features three theme parks: Buddhism Culture Park, Blessing and Longevity Park, and Hainan Custom Culture Park.
Buddhism Culture Park
Buddhism Culture Park was developed to portray the Buddhist culture and help people understand its profound philosophy. Highlights included the
Nanshan Temple (South Mountain Temple), the statue of the South China Sea Guanyin Bodhisattva, the China Buddhism Culture Institute and the Guanyin Park. Visitors are awed by the giant sea-side statue of Guanyin which stands 108 meters (353 feet) high. A second statue of Guanyin, located nearby, stands 3.8 meters high (12.5 feet) and was constructed out of gold, diamonds and jade, among other precious stones. It is said that its craftsmen used over 100 kg of gold to make this statue.

Hainan Custom Culture Park
Hainan Custom Culture Park is filled with the characteristics of Hainan Province. It takes advantage of its picturesque location (by Nanshan Mountain) to showcase tropical scenery and the customs of Li and Miao ethnic minorities.
Things to Do in Nanshan Culture Tourism Zone
In the Nanshan Culture Tourism Zone, you will be able to feast your eyes on the beautiful location, while dining on the area's renowned vegetarian dishes. Cooks make use of wild mushrooms and other vegetables when preparing delicious and nutritious dishes.
After you dine, be sure to attend the classical concert and kung fu performance. The concert band is comprised of 14 Chinese young girls. They use traditional instruments such as the Erhu, zither, lute (pipa), and flute, to create beautiful Chinese Music. The Chinese kung fu performance is splendid as well. One cannot fully appreciate the skill and technique of Chinese kung fu without witnessing a live performance such as this one.

Take bus 16, 55, or 57 to Nanshan station; or bus 25 to Nanshansi (Nanshan Temple) station.
