Best Time to Visit Badaling National Forest Park

The best time to visit the park is autumn, especially in mid and late October. As the first touch of red in Beijing’s autumn, the red leaves in the mountains and plains are gradually flaming in the park, reflecting the majestic Great Wall.

Red Leaf Ridge

Red Leaf Ridge is the best location for viewing red foliage in Badaling National Forest Park. It is adjacent to the Great Wall and is located on the south side of China’s first railway and memorial bronze statue of Chinese architect Zhan Tianyou. From the end of September to the beginning of November each year, it is wonderful to appreciate the red leaves in this scenic spot.

Syringa Valley

In Syringa Valley lies the largest natural Syringa reticulata forest in northern China. In addition, the valley has a rich variety of vegetation, complete forests and distinct seasonal landscapes, making it an excellent place to enjoy natural landscapes. Every June is the best time to watch syringa when syringa blooms in the mountains and the scent of syringa fills the valley.

Azure Dragon Valley

The Badaling Great Wall is located on the north side of Azure Dragon Valley. The ditch is deep and the mountains are quiet. The mountains , forests and towers form a three-dimensional landscape painting which shocks the soul. Here you can avoid the hustle and bustle of the modern city, get in touch with nature, breathe the freshest air, and experience the magic of nature at the foot of the ancient Great Wall.

Stone Gorge

You no longer view the red leaves at a distance, but appreciate them up close in Stone Gorge. Here, you can stroll beside the Great Wall and walk through the red leaf forest to enjoy the subtle charm of the red leaves.
