Vietnam is one of the popular tourist destinations of South-East Asia, often visited by hitchhikers and thrill seekers. The Vietnam visa cost varies depending on visa type and duration of the permit. Most of the travelers can get visas on arrival to enter the country, while other visitors from few countries require advance visa to enter.

While e-visas are one of the most convenient modes of entering the country, the entire process can be a bit overwhelming for an average traveler. Although the process had been simplified in the past years, but you might come across numerous third-party vendors who claim to provide e-visa to the tourists for a fee. But in reality, they offer visa on arrival. Besides that, Visa on Arrival and Consular Visa are available to the visitors who want to stay in the country for a long term.
 

P.S: Although, Visa on Arrival is often opted among the tourists – but it is not always the safest one.
 

1. E-visa

Travelers can receive their e-visa from the Vietnam Immigration Department. It is one of the most convenient ways to apply for the entry permit, and is available for visitors for almost 80 countries in the world. Usually, the permit is valid for 30 days. But extensions are available. The Vietnam visa cost might range around US$25 (the price is subjected to change).
 
According the latest regulations, the e-visa is available to visitors coming from 80 countries. A few of them are:

2. Consular Visa

The consulate visa is available at the Vietnamese consulate for tourists planning to stay for a long time. Upon completing the form, and filling up all the requirements, the visa would be mailed to the visitor.
 

3. Visa on Arrival

Visa on arrival is popular among tourists, and several vendors offer services to help visitors. However, these vendors are not authorized to issue e-visa. The cost of the visa is subjected to change, and includes processing fees.

Visa Extension Fee

The visas can be extended for additional three months via Vietnam Immigration Department offices located in major cities of Vietnam. The extensions might cost around US$30, and includes a processing fee.
