Fortunately, the rain often stops within hours and after raining, sky is clearer, trees are greener, and flowers are more beautiful, when it’s great time to appreciate natural scenery in the mountains. Doi Inthanon National Park is the highest peak in Thailand and worth visiting. Mae Ya Waterfall and Phra Mahathat Napha Methanidon are highlights there. Since there are lots to see on the mountain, you’d better go there early the day after raining for a thorough visit. As for short-time downtown sightseeing after raining, Chiang Mai Old Town and Chiang Mai University are recommended.
