Short-sleeve t-shirt plus a pair of shorts or light pants are good for the sightseeing in the daytime. When night comes, a long-sleeve shirt, a blouse or a thin overcoat should be added. Traveling to Bangkok in December, one should not miss visiting the Grand Palace. It is the best-preserved, largest and most distinctive royal palace in Thailand preserving many paintings and carvings and decorated luxuriously. Wat Phra Kaew in its northeast corner is one of the most famous temples in the country worth visiting. To learn local folk customs, one may head to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market in the early morning, where local farmers selling tropical fruits on floating boats; it is a good destination to taste local snacks. Although the dominant religion in Bangkok is Buddhism, people there celebrate Christmas in a grand scale; so in December of Bangkok, visitors also have opportunities to take part in the celebrations.
