Basic Information
The railway of Moscow - Vladivostok is the longest train route in the world, stretching from Moscow Yaroslavsky train station to Vladivostok which is the most important city in the far east of Russia. As the capital of Russia, Moscow is Russian’s political, economic, cultural, financial and transportation center. The Trans-Russian Railway refers to the whole route from Moscow to Vladivostok, attracting many visitors each year to take this train, as it can be regarded as the most famous and mysterious railway line in the world.
The total length of Moscow - Vladivostok is about 9,259 kilometers (5,753 miles) and the duration is 144-166 hours, depending on different trains which you take. This railway line opened to public in 1966 and it made its first trip in 1966 as well. As the longest railway line in the world, Moscow-Vladivostok line passes by Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm, Yekaterinburg, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude, Khabarovsk and finally reaches Vladivostok.
