Published: October 20, 2010

A group of TravelChinaGuide (abbr.TCG) staff paid a visit to Suzhou and Shanghai from October 14 to 19, 2010.

The TCG group departed from Xi'an to Suzhou on October 14. On October 15, the group visited Humble Administrator's Garden and Guanqian Street. Humble Administrator's Garden, the most famous classical garden in Suzhou, was a perfect fusion of natural beauties and architectures. Guanqian Street was a well-known commercial center of Suzhou.

On 16, they went to Tiger Hill and admired the well-known Tiger Hill Pagoda, then took a high-speed train to Shanghai. After arriving, they immediately paid a visit to another famous garden in southern China, Yuyuan Garden and then its neighbor, Old City God's Temple. At night, they enjoyed the Portman acrobatic show.

Shanghai World Expo for sure was worth visiting and our TCG staff group spent the whole October 17 there. They first explored the European Zone, including UK Pavilion, Italy Pavilion, Switzerland Pavilion and Turkey Pavilion. After, they toured the Asia Zone including China Pavilion, Saudi Arabia Pavilion, Israel Pavilion and Japan Pavilion. Other pavilions they visited included Australia Pavilion, Argentina Pavilion, Egypt Pavilion and South Africa Pavilion. Although it was coming to the end of World Expo, there were still many tourists grasping the last opportunity to visit it. So did our TCG staff group, who seized every minute to explore as many pavilions as possible.

October 18 was a busy day for an essence tour of Shanghai. First, they went to Shanghai Museum to learn the ancient aspects of Shanghai. Then they went to the prosperous Nanjing Road and The Bund, which were musts for Shanghai traveling. The tour came to a climax when they took the Huangpu River Cruise to unveil the night beauty of Shanghai. On the morning of October 19, they had a glimpse of ancient water townships at Qibao Ancient Town and then ended the itinerary.

The five days tour not only widened our TCG staff's knowledge of modern Suzhou and Shanghai, but also gave a good lesson of their prosperity in old times. If you are also attracted by these two amazing cities, welcome to join our Shanghai-Suzhou Tour to explore them by yourself!

Our Clients having a la carte meal

A la carte meals, a wonderful service originally offered by TravelChinaGuide, has won much favorable reviews from hundreds of thousands of our clients over the past few years. Based on the recognition from our clients, TravelChinaGuide starts again upgrading the meal standard of China tours in top China cities into a la carte meals, only except that of budget tours or tours in remote scenic spots with limited conditions.

This promotion aims to provide a better sense of travel, and allows our clients to order their favorite Chinese dishes as they wish and taste the real and best local food. Our a la carte meal averages US$ 15-20 per person, enough for you to dine at the best local restaurants. Come with TravelChinaGuide and get rid of those tourist restaurants used by other China tour operators and the uninviting food they charge at US$ 4-5 per person.

In 2011, all meals involved in Beijing tours will be replaced to 'a la carte'. Meal renovation on tours to other major cities like Shanghai, Xi'an, and Lhasa is undergoing and expected to be completed within 2011.
