The opening ceremony of the 4th Xinjiang International Tourism Festival was held in Kuqa, Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang. This was the first time that the Xinjiang International Tourism Festival came to southern Xinjiang. The festival lasts two months. TravelChinaGuide sent a group to visit Kuqa on July 7.
Kuqa was the center of ancient Kucha Kingdom, which is regardedad as the place where Xinjiang’s Buddhism and Buddhist culture, especially Buddhist cave art, grew, developed and came into being. The second largest mosque within Xinjiang is here. Only the Id Kah Mosque in Kashgar is larger. Kizilgaha Thousand Buddha Cave, Kizilgaha Beacon Tower and Kizil Thousand Buddha Caves are also famous attractions in this city. Kizil Thousand Buddha Caves is especially famous for its beautiful mural painting, which is worth spending a good amount of time to see. The group also watched an exciting horse race there.
Special notes for people who are interested in Kuqa: There is no shuttle bus among attractions. The best way to travel is to charter a van.
TravelChinaGuide: Loving Care Warms Children's Hearts A Charitable Trip to Dongzhou Children's Village
Published: June 14, 2007
Nothing is more noble and worthy than charitable giving! On June 9, 2007, TravelChinaGuide (TCG) stretched its benevolent arms to the Children's Village in Dongzhou Village of Sanyuan County, Xianyang, Shaanxi Province.
A week long fundraising and material-gathering activity was launched by the company and the enthusiastic response by all the staff of TCG eagerly showed their love for these children by donating much money, food, commodities, stationery and clothes. All the staff then visited the children's village to deliver their gifts with their deep love and was greeted warmly by the village head and delightful children. By chatting with the children they learned about their living conditions, daily life and study. After a small and simple ceremony of distributing the gifts they joined the children for lunch, then played with them and took many photographs. The enjoyable charitable trip ended with a good send-off by children's village.
For people in need, TCG's donation and support is just a drop in the ocean and is an utterly inadequate amount. However, TravelChinaGuide is taking a long-term care and concern for the needy, offering them as much help within its power. The company always promotes a sense of humanity and generates more ways to help the disadvantaged, linking business development and society needs. We hope our charitable behavior is akin to the sunshine that pours down its warmth on the whole world.
